Filipina environment and climate journalist

Gaea is a freelance journalist covering climate change and environmental issues through a social justice lens. Her stories have appeared on Inside Climate News, Eos, Dialogue Earth, and Philstar.com. She is a member of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network, and has earned fellowships from The Outlaw Ocean Institute, Earth Journalism Network, Stanley Center for Peace and Security, and Climate Tracker.

In 2024, Gaea won an award for a story about climate education in the Philippines from the Covering Climate Now Awards. Judges called the work "nuts and bolts service journalism at its best."

Gaea is currently based in New York City. She is pursuing a Master's degree in Journalism, specializing in Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting at New York University.
